NLI’s 82nd Annual Meeting

May is here, which means it’s time for our annual tradition. Mark your calendars for Saturday, May 6, the day of the Northern Lights’ 82nd Annual Meeting.  The meeting is at the Sandpoint Business and Events Center located at 102 S. Euclid Street in Sandpoint, Idaho. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m., the meeting kicks off at 10 a.m. PDT.

The annual meeting provides an opportunity for members to meet the NLI board of directors and employees. Members will be updated on the financial condition and future plans of the cooperative.

As in years past, we will provide an electrical safety demonstration that has always been a favorite with the kids. There will be coffee, pastries and fruit for all to enjoy and a variety of great door prizes, including two $250 energy credits. Each member who attends will receive a $25 energy credit.

One of the greatest values of being a member of a cooperative is your right to vote. This year, there are two districts up for election. Those seats currently are held by Steve Elgar, District 3; and G.E. “Butch” Hagen, District 6. The District 3 incumbent, Steve Elgar, was not contested, so no election will take place in that district.

If you reside in District 6, you will be receiving an official ballot in the mail with information regarding the candidates running in your district. There are two ways to vote: in person at the annual meeting or by mail. Please take time to read the details regarding each candidate running for election.

I look forward to meeting and talking with many of you at the annual meeting. It’s always a pleasure to meet and fellowship with the faces of the cooperative.

I hope to see you there!
