The Northern Lights 89th Annual Meeting on April 1 consisted of education, refreshments, and business details. Thanks to all the members who made the effort to attend.
NLI board directors in Districts 3 and 6 were up for election this year. Director Steve Elgar, District 3; and Director Dave Anderson, District 6; ran unopposed. Congratulations to Steve and Dave for being duly elected to another 4-year term.
Keith Simovic, a certified public accountant with Moss Adams LLP, presented the 2023 audit report at the meeting. Each February, the auditors travel from Portland, Oregon, to our Sagle headquarters, where they spend a week conducting a thorough search of our accounting records. I am pleased to announce we received a perfectly clean audit with no adjustments.
The NLI Board of Directors was also pleased to announce there will be no rate increases in 2024.
Having a clean audit and low rates are tributes to our staff’s hard work and dedication to achieve this high level of financial performance, recordkeeping, and working with our auditors to make sure we meet our obligations, standards, and rules. We have established a culture of fiscal accountability and responsibility. This audit lets us know we have successfully met the standards we have worked diligently to implement.
