Window and Door Rebates

In older homes, windows and patio doors tend to be single-paned with minimal weather stripping and deteriorating metal framing. Along with uninsulated doors, these can contribute to air leakage and energy loss. Heat gain and heat loss through windows are responsible for 25–30% of residential heating and cooling energy use.

High-performance windows and insulated doors offer energy savings, thanks to energy-efficient technology, and protection from water and drafts. All of this means increased comfort in your home and smaller energy bills for years to come.

Rebates are up to $8 per square foot for window and patio doors.

Qualifications

You can potentially qualify for rebates if:

  • You are a current Northern Lights member
  • Electrically heated, existing single-family home or existing manufactured home
  • Work is completed by a licensed and bonded contractor
  • Replacement windows must have National Fenestration Rating Council (NFRC) minimum U-value of 0.30 or lower for windows, .035 or lower for patio doors. A U-value measures heat transfer, measuring how much heat moves through the window or door.  Lower numbers mean better insulation.

Required Documentation

  • Completed rebate/project information form.
  • Contractor invoice that includes date of installation, installed cost, existing window type, new U-value per window/patio door, and size of window/patio door installed.
