Stay Comfortable and Save With Insulation Rebates
Insulation helps keep heat inside your home in winter and outside in summer. When your attic, walls or floors don’t have enough insulation, your heating and cooling systems work harder—using more energy and increasing your bills.
Adding insulation can help keep your home comfortable year-round and lower energy costs. For the best results, pair insulation with air sealing to close gaps and cracks where air leaks in or out.
Does Your Home Need More Insulation?
Older homes often have less insulation, but even newer homes may benefit from adding more. Northern Lights offers rebates to help members improve insulation in eligible homes.
Ensuring your house is properly insulated can make your home more energy efficient and more comfortable. Insulation reduces heat loss during winter and heat gain during the summer.
Many older homes have less insulation than newer homes, but even newer homes can benefit from additional insulation. Adding insulation and air sealing your home can provide the biggest bang for your buck in energy savings and overall comfort.
Investing in proper insulation reduces energy consumption, helping to reduce your power bill.
Rebates are available for attic, floor and exterior wall insulation. The amount depends on where you add insulation and how much you improve its R-value.
R-value measures how well insulation slows the movement of heat. A higher R-value means better insulation.
- Rebates for attic insulation can range from $0.09 to $2.30 per square foot
- Rebates for floor insulation range from $0.15 to $1.05 per square foot
- Rebate for insulation of exterior walls is $2 per square foot
To qualify, your home must:
- Be an existing single-family home, either site-built or manufactured.
- Have permanently installed electric heat.
New construction does not qualify.
