New Construction
PrintStarting new electric service or making changes to an existing service? Choose the option below that best describes your project. Each section explains which application to use and how to submit it.
New Construction
For properties that do not currently have electric service.
Use this application to request a new electric service where no existing service is currently installed.
Service Change
For changes to an existing electric service.
Examples include relocating an electric service or converting an existing service from overhead to underground.
Submitting Your Application
The following requirements apply to both the New Construction and Service Change applications.
What You Will Need
- Completed and signed application
- Copy of the deed to the property
- Site plan
- $750 application and engineering fee
How to Submit
The PDF can be completed electronically or by hand, but the application must be signed before submission. You may print the completed application and return it, along with the required documents and $750 application and engineering fee, to the Northern Lights Office.
Alternatively, you may email a scanned copy of the signed application, deed, and site plan to newservices@nli.coop. If you submit your application by email, we will call you to arrange payment of the $750 application and engineering fee.
Once we receive the required items, a member of our New Service Department will contact you to confirm that your application has been received.
Developer Application
For subdivisions, condominiums, multi-family developments, or industrial developments.
The PDF can be completed electronically or by hand, but the application must be printed, signed, and returned to the Northern Lights Office.
Refer to the Developer Line Extension Fee Schedule included with the application for additional items that must be provided before the process can begin.

Need Three-Phase Service?
If you will be requesting three-phase electric service for your development, you will also need to complete the Three-Phase Requirement Sheet and return it with your application.
